New York
I sigh finally
As I witness a birth
Of an eternal regret
Somethings are just too big
To measure or forget
Impossible to comprehend
I measured things with my
Small measures
Till I met you
Oh house of all treasures
And you were bigger than numbers
And wider than the ever expanding Universe
Oh mother of a million loving mothers
And sleepless knight of the kingdom of warriors
Where do you start and where do you end?
Where do you cease to give and ascend?!
On every corner, a great memory sings
And on every street freedom bells ring
With your thousand doors
Coming out of the ground
Magical passages to gardens of intellect
And your tunnels of human blood
We are your red blood cells
Circulate and communicate your emotions
And you are a big us
Put together as one ….
All our hearts beat yours…
Oh you, the one Like no where else ….
Oh you, the womb of all art and science
Oh you the baking oven of progress
The cradle of the future
And the eternity of history
Your walls smell of music and tears
And your forests of cement
Breath with letters and giggles
How many birds shall you teach to fly?!
And how many weeping men fit in the warmth of your embrace ?!
I shall be
Away from you
With regret.
